Benning News is the main source for telling the official Fort Benning and Maneuver Center of Excellence story. The content of our news falls in line with the Maneuver Center of Excellence Campaign Plan (FY 2016-2022) lines of effort:

If you have a story to tell about Fort Benning or the surrounding community, you are welcome to write to us about your article idea, explaining your intended line of effort, scope and organization. We’ll tell you whether we would be interested in seeing the proposed article and give you any further guidance you may need. To submit articles for inclusion on Benning News, please email your submission to email@example.com.
Style: We use AP Style with Department of Defense guidance. Please view our Style Guide for more information. Also, we prefer clear, correct, concise, and consistent wording, expressed in active voice, to high-flown formal writing or military jargon. Remember, you are writing for both civilians and military.
We edit all manuscripts as needed for clarity and conformance to our style and standards of expression, and we often change headlines.
Length: 500 words or less, although this is not a rigid guideline.
Attribution: Be sure quotations are absolutely accurate. Attribute anything that anyone has said, even when paraphrased. If you’re not sure, attribute.
Photos: If you are submitting photos, please include a deep cutline for each photo. View our Style Guide for more info on cutlines.When you submit your article, please include the original electronic file of all images (jpeg, tiff, etc.). If necessary, include written permission for any copyrighted items to be reprinted. You must include at least one feature photo, sized at 860×290 pixels or larger.
Byline: Please send the name you’d like published (include rank if you are a service member), as well your job duty and organization.
Clearance: Authors are responsible for ensuring their articles receive a proper security review through their respective organizations before being submitted. Clearance requirements are outlined in Army Regulation 360-1, Chapter 5, Paragraph 5-3. Headquarters Department of the Army/Office of the Secretary of Defense clearance is required if your article meets any of the criteria listed there. Article clearance is further covered in Paragraph 6-6, with procedures on how to do so outlined in Paragraph 6-9. The bottom line on most article clearance is discussed in Paragraph 6-6.
Payment: Because Benning News is an official publication of the U.S. Army, monetary payment for material is not permitted.
