FORT BENNING, Ga. (Nov. 22, 207) – Two- and three-year-old students at Fort Benning’s Main Post Child Development Center (CDC) were treated to a Thanksgiving feast with their families Nov. 17.
The CDC’s chef, Theresa Chandler, singlehandedly prepared the traditional Thanksgiving menu, which included ham, turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, and macaroni and cheese.
Shauna Wells, Main Post CDC director, said the remaining staff pitched in with desserts and decorations to make the event, which took four months of planning, a success.
“We do it because we’re here for our Soldiers and their families,” she said. “It means a lot that we bridge the gap between CDC and home. We’re all family.”
