‘WATER UNDER THE BADGE’: US Soldiers swim for German proficiency badge

Soldiers at Fort Benning dive in to earn the German Armed Forces Military Proficiency Badge.

FORT BENNING, Ga. (Nov. 20, 2017) – As part of earning the German Armed Forces Military Proficiency Badge, Soldiers at Fort Benning, Georgia completed a 100-meter swim at Briant Wells Pool Nov. 17.

The badge, a decoration of the Federal Republic of Germany, is one of several hundred foreign awards approved for wear on the U.S. Army uniform.
