Soldiers of 926th Preventive Medicine Detachment return from Puerto Rico

FORT BENNING, Ga. (Nov. 17, 2017) – Following a mission to Puerto Rico, 115 Soldiers of the 926th Preventive Medicine Detachment, attached to the 14th Combat Support Hospital, returned to Lawson Army Airfield at Fort Benning Nov. 16.

Their mission was to ensure Puerto Rico’s water supply was safe and ready to use for relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Maria.

This was a joint interoperability mission between the 14th CSH, the Environmental Protection Agency and Puerto Rico’s Health Community Services.

The Soldiers saw their family members and loved ones for the first time in more than six weeks.
