Bruce W. Derdoski Jr., Transition Services Specialist /
FORT BENNING, Ga. – Prospective employers braved cold and windy conditions Jan. 27 at the Rangers in Action demonstration at Victory Pond as two transitioning Soldiers fielded questions from the employers about the skills Soldiers learn during their training at Fort Benning.
Employers were given the opportunity to observe the Rangers in Action and parachute rigging demonstrations. They also toured the Bradley and Abrams Training Divisions and other simulator training centers.
During the tour, employers were given an opportunity to wear parachutes, crawl inside Bradley Fighting Vehicles, fire simulated rounds, and drive the simulated Bradley Fighting Vehicle and the MA1 Abrams Main Battle Tank.
The tour resulted in leaders from AXA Advisors, Albany Police Department, FedEx and Infotech Prism meeting qualified candidates for positions they would like to fill within their companies.
The Fort Benning Soldier for Life-Transition Assistance Program employer tours are hosted and sponsored by the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce, Liberty Utilities, and Buffalo Rock Pepsi.
All of our employer tours are free of charge to any employers seeking to hire transitioning Soldiers, their spouses, and veterans.
The tour can accommodate up to 30 guests for each tour. The tours start at 8:00 a.m. in the SFL-TAP auditorium and the tour ends with a return trip to the auditorium around 5:00 p.m. A climate-controlled bus, water, and lunch are provided through sponsorships.
