COLUMBUS, Ga. (Dec. 14) — Almost a month removed from their Peanut Bowl victory, the Fort Benning Bengals youth high school football team stopped the Columbus Youth Football All-Stars 14-6 in a hard-fought Holiday Bowl at A.J. McClung Memorial Stadium.

The Bengals defense showed little rust from their extended layoff as they limited the All-Stars to one score, while the offense produced just enough to put Fort Benning over the top.

Fort Benning quarterback Rontayev’on Grant scored both Bengals’ touchdowns and was named the game’s most valuable player.

The Bengals last played Nov. 19 when they dismantled the Phenix City Titans 32-6 in the 58th Peanut Bowl.

Fort Benning finished the season at 9-2.
