FORT BENNING, Ga., (Sept. 28, 2016) — Military spouses seeking to further their education or employment opportunities should take advantage of the professional guidance offered by the Employment Readiness Program at Fort Benning Army Community Services.

The manager and counselors with the Employment Readiness team provide useful information as well as referral services and assistance with employment, education and volunteer opportunities. These services are formulated to give the customer the competitive edge required to ultimately secure employment. The services include job counseling and training, employment and education information, volunteer opportunities, internet job search and assistance in resume writing and goal setting.

ACS Employment Readiness has had a high placement rate. There are scores of good-news stories associated with their phenomenal customer service.

Many on-post colleges, including Columbus Technical College, can help military spouses further their education and ultimately be a part of the workforce.

CTC is committed to helping these spouses continue their education, upgrade their skills and get hired. Active duty, veterans and military spouses attend the college to achieve their individual potential and develop the skills they need to have a fulfilling and flourishing career. Faculty and staff at CTC fully understand the challenges associated with frequent moves and several of its programs can be completed in a relatively short time, before the next PCS move.

CTC offers a high-value, affordable education that boasts job placement and continuing postsecondary education rates as high as 100 percent in some programs. The college provides an excellent opportunity for military members, Department of the Army civilians, contractors and their families due to the transferability of degrees, programs and courses.

The college offers more than 90 programs and is accredited through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to offer associate degrees, diplomas and technical certificates of credit. Besides MyCAA, there is a large number of other financial aid options including veterans’ benefits, tuition assistance, Pell, scholarships, HOPE and more.

Visit the Columbus Technical College enrollment specialist on Tuesdays or Thursdays in Room 1304 of the Education Center, located in the newly renovated Building 9230, Soldier For Life Center, or meet with an ACES counselor.
