CG Message 9/1/16 – Labor Day Safety Message

Maj. Gen. Eric J. Wesley, commanding general of the Maneuver Center of ExcellenceBy Eric J. Wesley, U.S. Army Commanding General /

Since 1882 Labor Day has marked a time of national recognition of the economic and social achievement of American workers. In recent years, Labor Day has become a symbol of the end of summer and the beginning of a new school year.

I hope each one of you takes time this holiday weekend to enjoy the last few days of summer, but please consider that every activity comes with its own set of risks. Whether you are on the water, grilling at your house or traveling, take actions to ensure the safety of yourself, your family and your teammates.

I wish you all an enjoyable Labor Day weekend. As members of the Maneuver Center of Excellence and Fort Benning, we look forward to your safe return.

One Force, One Fight!
