Fort Benning’s Army Community Service will host its birthday celebration July 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the ACS Auditorium in Building 7.
“It’s permanent change of station season, which is a great opportunity for us to familiarize people with ACS during the month of July,” said Nicole Heller, a specialist with ACS’s mobilization and deployment program.
“This is a really good way for us to reach out to the community and let them know what services and programs we provide and where we’re located,” she added.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “servicing our superheroes,” and ACS invites the entire community to join in the festivities, she added.
When people arrive at Building 7 for the birthday celebration July 22, and sign in, they will receive a bag. Inside the bag will be copies of the ACS schedule and other useful information. They will also get a passport, Heller said.
“Their passport card will contain a grid. If they visit each of the program stations that will be set up and play their game, they’ll get a stamp. If they turn in their card and it has each stamp, they will be eligible for the door prizes,” she added.
Individuals don’t have to be present to win their door prizes. ACS will contact them. There will also be food available at the birthday celebration around noon, Heller said.
“We’ll also be giving out free comic books to the kids. There will be a lot of superhero themed items to go around,” she added.
